Kilimanjaro Trekking FAQs

Our Kilimanjaro packages include all park fees, camping or hut accommodations, meals during the trek, guides and porters, transportation to and from the mountain, and rescue fees. We also provide tents, sleeping mats, and filtered water throughout the climb. Flights, visa fees, and personal gear are not included.

You don’t need to be a professional athlete, but a good level of fitness is necessary. Regular cardio exercises such as hiking, running, or cycling are recommended in the months leading up to your climb. Strength training can also help prepare your legs and core for the trek.

Altitude is the biggest challenge on Kilimanjaro. We recommend gradual ascent routes, proper hydration, and going “pole pole” (slowly). Consider taking acclimatization hikes before your trip. Consult your doctor about altitude sickness medication if needed, but our experienced guides will also monitor your health throughout the trek.

Essential gear includes a good-quality sleeping bag, hiking boots, warm clothing for summit night, a daypack, trekking poles, and a headlamp. We will provide a full packing list before your trip to ensure you have all the necessary items. Some gear can also be rented locally if needed.

No, all meals are provided during the climb. Our team of cooks prepares nutritious meals to keep you energized, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. Special dietary needs can be accommodated upon request.

The summit night is the most challenging part of the climb. It involves starting the final push to the peak around midnight and hiking in the dark for several hours. You’ll need warm clothing, stamina, and determination, but reaching the summit at sunrise makes it all worthwhile.
