Day 1 | Arusha – Tarangire National Park

After a morning safari briefing, you will depart on a scenic two-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. This remarkable park is known for its towering baobab trees, open bush savannah, and seasonal marshes that attract a wide variety of wildlife. It is one of the best places in Tanzania to observe large herds of elephants at close range. Buffaloes, zebras, and wildebeests roam the plains, often shadowed by predators such as lions, while leopards are occasionally seen resting in the trees. Cheetahs are present but less commonly spotted.

Enjoy game viewing from the open roof of your safari vehicle, offering excellent visibility and photography opportunities. In the late afternoon, you will leave the park and transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 | Tarangire National Park

Today you enjoy a full day of game drives in Tarangire National Park, exploring its diverse landscapes and rich wildlife. During the dry season, many animals gather along the Tarangire River, creating excellent opportunities to observe their behavior at close range. This natural water source attracts elephants, buffaloes, zebras, and various antelope species, often followed by predators.

With a full day in the park, you’ll have time to venture into more remote areas, appreciating both the dramatic and subtle moments of safari life — from majestic lions and graceful giraffes to the fascinating activity of dung beetles and vibrant birdlife. Your guide will share detailed insights about the wildlife, ecosystems, and unique features of the park, making the experience both exciting and educational.

In the late afternoon, you return to your lodge just outside the park for a relaxing evening.

Day 3 | Tarangire Area – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you travel through the cooler highlands toward the vast plains of Serengeti National Park. By midday, you arrive in Tanzania’s largest and most celebrated national park, renowned for its diverse habitats - from short grass plains and open savannah to thick bush, swamps, and scattered lakes.

Distinctive granite rock formations known as kopjes rise from the landscape, often serving as lookout points for predators such as lions and leopards. The Serengeti is world-famous for the annual Great Migration, when hundreds of thousands of wildebeests and zebras move across the plains in search of fresh grazing and water.

After an afternoon game drive, you head to your tented camp inside the park for dinner and overnight, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 4 | Serengeti National Park

Today is dedicated entirely to game viewing in the Serengeti. The areas you explore will depend on the movement of the Great Migration herds. Predators closely follow the migrating wildebeests and zebras, and you may spot lions on the hunt, leopards resting in acacia trees, and cheetahs scanning the plains.

During the short rainy season (November–December), the herds typically move from the northern hills toward the southern plains. In the longer rainy season (April–June), they gradually migrate back north. As the migration depends on annual rainfall patterns, locations may vary from year to year — but your experienced guide will know the best areas to maximize wildlife sightings.

After an exciting day on the plains, you return to your tented camp for dinner and overnight.

Important: If you travel between early January and mid-March, you will stay at Ndutu Kati Kati Tented Camp, located near the Ndutu area close to the Ngorongoro Conservation boundary. This strategic location increases your chances of witnessing the migration, as the herds often move between the Serengeti and Ndutu regions during this period.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 5 | Serengeti National Park – Karatu – Coffee Walk

After breakfast, enjoy a final game drive as you make your way toward the exit of Serengeti National Park. In the early afternoon, you continue your journey to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon reaching the crater rim, you are rewarded with a breathtaking view of the vast caldera stretching below — one of Africa’s most spectacular natural sights.

You then descend from the highlands and travel to Karatu, where you’ll take part in a guided walk through a local coffee plantation. Learn about the cultivation, harvesting, and processing of coffee, one of Tanzania’s most important crops.

In the evening, you settle into your lodge for dinner and overnight in the Ngorongoro highlands.

Day 6 | Karatu – Ngorongoro Crater – Karatu

Rise early and enjoy breakfast before returning to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You then descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, a massive collapsed volcano and natural wildlife sanctuary. The crater floor is home to over 25,000 mammals, including the Big Five — lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard — as well as spotted hyenas, rare wild dogs, and more than 500 bird species.

After an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch inside the crater, you ascend back to the rim in the afternoon and return to your lodge in the highlands for dinner and overnight.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 7 | Karatu – Arusha

After a leisurely breakfast, you depart from Karatu and drive back to Arusha. Upon arrival around midday, you will be dropped off either in the city center or at the airport, marking the end of your unforgettable Tanzania safari.
