Marangu Rainforest Day Hike

You will be picked up early from Moshi or nearby accommodations and driven to the Marangu gate, the starting point of the hike on the southeastern slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. The day begins with a guided walk through the lush Marangu rainforest, where travelers can enjoy the sights and sounds of the forest, spotting monkeys, birds, butterflies, and unique tropical plants along the trail. Streams, small waterfalls, and panoramic views of the surrounding valleys create excellent opportunities for photography and relaxation.

The guide will also introduce guests to the local Chagga culture, including traditional farming practices and the region’s natural flora. Midway through the hike, guests can take a break to rest, enjoy refreshments, and soak in the serene environment. After completing the trail, travelers return to the Marangu gate, where a traditional lunch can be enjoyed at a nearby local lodge or arranged as a packed meal. In the afternoon, guests are transferred back to Moshi or their accommodations, concluding the tour.
